Pad Kra Pow, or Stir Fry Chicken with Basil in English. Not only delicious and unique Thai food, but it is very easy and simple dishes to be cook.
The main ingredients |
The Ingredients
- Chicken breasts. I love the chicken cut up in bite size chunks rather than ground, it's all up individual's liking .
- 1/2 onions, trimmed, peeled, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise
- 4 cloves garlic, minced.
- Thai “bird” chillies minced. I used half because I can't take much spice.
- Ginger, peeled and minced.
- Basil (the more the merrier)
- 1-2 Tbsp fish sauce
- 2-3 Tbsp oyster sauce
- White pepper
- Sugar/salt to add taste
Step-by-step method with pictures
1. Fry the garlic in oil over high heat. Add garlic, green chilli and ginger. Stir.
2. Add more oil if you need to. When the garlic are a little brown around the edges, drop the onion in. Stir constantly until the onions have wilted.
3. Add the chicken, the juice will start to come out.
4. Add oyster sauce and white pepper.
Keep stirring until the chicken is cooked.
5. Add the rest ingredients - basil leaves, and season to taste with fish sauce salt and sugar. Stir fry until basil leaves are wilted and the meat is cooked through for about 30 seconds.
And here is the finished my Pad Kra Pow. Complete this dish with sunny side up with runny yolk on top. Yummy..This is heaven.
